Since its inception in January 1967, the Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (JPMA) has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the packaging machinery industry. As one of the founding members of APAC (Asia Packaging Club), JPMA’s commitment to progress, innovation, and collaboration continues to shape the packaging landscape in Asia and beyond.
JPMA was established with a profound purpose – “to contribute to the prosperity of our nation’s economy and the improvement of people’s lives by conducting research, safety enhancement, talent development, and information collection and dissemination related to packaging and related machinery, equipment, and devices.” This vision laid the foundation for the comprehensive advancement of the packaging machinery industry.
In its early days, JPMA had 44 member companies, and the annual production value of packaging machinery barely reached 39 billion Japanese yen. However, the association’s unwavering dedication and strategic efforts have led to remarkable growth. In 2017, JPMA boasts an impressive membership of 237 companies and is a driving force behind an industry with a production value exceeding 400 billion yen.
Today, JPMA stands as a testament to the potential of collaborative efforts. As a key player in APAC, the association facilitates the exchange of knowledge, fosters innovation, and forges valuable partnerships that transcend borders. With its remarkable journey from modest beginnings to becoming a leading force in the global packaging machinery sector, JPMA is a shining example of dedication, innovation, and industry leadership.
JPMA’s pivotal role in APAC exemplifies its commitment to sharing expertise and driving the packaging industry’s progress in the Asia-ASEAN regions. As JPMA continues to pioneer packaging innovation, its influence on the global stage continues to grow, leaving an indelible mark on the industry’s trajectory for years to come.
